Sustainability Culture Club: Greening a Mobile Home Community through Natural History, Energy, and the Arts (SCC)
EcoArts Connections, in collaboration with the Boulder County Audubon Society, will launch the Sustainability Culture Club: Greening a Mobile Home Community through Natural History, Energy, and the Arts (SCC). SCC is an interdisciplinary, intergenerational project focused on Latino middle school students and their families, designed to inspire behavior change. SCC's purpose is to engage, energize, and empower youth and their families to envision and implement a positive new future using natural history and the arts as a catalyst, integrated with energy conservation, and other sustainability practices focused on water, habitat, food, and transportation. SCC will be based at the Boulder Ridge Mobile Home Park (BRMHP) with additional activities at other locations. Activities will include community meetings, an inventory of BRMHP flora and fauna, presentations on low and no-cost conservation services, workshops, scavenger hunts and energy audits, youth-created performances and visual art exhibitions, and a sustainability plan for BRMHP. This project is being led by Marda Kirn.
