Idaho State University Outdoor Education Volunteers recently joined Portneuf Valley Audubon Society for a BeaverCount. They braved the cold to help us sample beaver habitat.

During the trip, we helped students learn how to identify an active dam versus an abandoned one.

Students inspected this riverbed for signs of beaver activity.

Thanks to support from Toyota and Audubon, we were able to buy snowshoes for days like this.

After surveying several miles of stream, the students joined us for some chili and a warm happy dance.
