Pennies for the Planet

Pennies for the Planet

Starting in the Fall, kids across the country will be able to take part in "Pennies for the Planet"—an education and conservation action program for young people. By taking part, kids everywhere will get a chance to tackle local challenges while raising funds to support national biodiversity conservation.

Every penny raised through Pennies for the Planet will go to support three exciting conservation projects each year. And every participant will receive personal recognition on our website!

Through Pennies for the Planet, young people can:

  • Carry out action projects in their community.
  • Support conservation projects in the United States.
  • Help save special places or species in their own way --- through festivals, bird walks, game shows, banquets, craft fairs, and more.
  • See the results of their efforts!

Pennies for the Planet is an excellent environmental project for classrooms, after-school clubs, Scout troops, nature centers, and others to talk about the importance of the natural world and the need to help protect it locally and globally.

Pennies for the Planet education kits, which will include information for educators and young people, will be available nationwide starting in Fall 2008, and can be downloaded from our website or picked up at any Audubon Center.
